Through UWorld Cares’ partnership with Bold Idea, we’re helping North Texas students explore computer science, build coding skills, and see what’s possible in a future career in technology.
Helping learners build the skills they need to pursue higher education and rewarding careers is at the heart of what we do at UWorld. And as a company where technology plays a big role in how we help millions of learners, we know firsthand the people behind that technology matter.
That’s why, in recognition of National Programmers Day, we’re celebrating the programmers who help bring UWorld’s learning tools to life and our partnership with Bold Idea, a Dallas nonprofit helping students discover that they can have a future in technology.
It’s a partnership that makes sense for us. Bold Idea is working to expand access to computer science education for North Texas students, while UWorld relies on talented technology professionals every day to build and improve the digital learning experiences our students use.
For many students, discovering an interest in computer science starts with simply having an opportunity to try it.
Bold Idea’s ideaSpark Coding Clubs provide that opportunity through project-based computer science education and mentorship. Students gain hands-on coding experience in areas such as software development and web design while working alongside volunteer mentors who have careers in technology.
And Bold Idea is looking to reach even more students.
With support from UWorld Cares, the organization plans to expand to an additional Dallas County school district during the 2026-27 academic year and double participation among middle and high school students from 50 to 100. Bold Idea also plans to double the number of volunteer mentors supporting those students from 50 to 100.
That mentorship is an important part of the experience. For some students participating in Bold Idea’s Coding Clubs, their mentor is the only technology professional they know.
We don’t have to look far to see where learning those skills can lead.
Programmers and technology professionals are essential to how UWorld helps learners achieve their goals. Behind every question, video, study tool, and digital experience are talented teams turning ideas into solutions, solving complex problems, and continually finding new ways to make learning more effective and accessible.
National Programmers Day is an opportunity to celebrate the people behind that work and recognize the creativity, technical expertise and innovation they bring to UWorld every day.
It’s also a reminder of why giving young people the opportunity to discover computer science matters. The students learning to code today could be the programmers, innovators, and problem-solvers who shape how we learn, work and connect tomorrow.
Bold Idea’s Coding Clubs aren’t only focused on whether students can write code. The organization also measures whether students increase or maintain their interest in computer science, build confidence creating technology projects, and develop positive relationships with their mentors.
Those experiences can help students begin to imagine where their skills might take them.
That’s what we love about this partnership. Our programmers show us every day what can happen when technical skills meet creativity and a desire to solve problems. Bold Idea is giving more North Texas students the opportunity to begin developing those same skills.
This National Programmers Day, we’re proud to celebrate the people building UWorld today and support the students who may build what comes next.
