Through UWorld Cares’ partnership with the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, we’re helping DFW students explore STEM, prepare for college, and build confidence for what comes next.
Helping learners pursue higher education, build rewarding careers, and achieve their goals is the heart of what we do at UWorld. That commitment is why we’re excited to partner with the Perot Museum of Nature and Science for the second year through UWorld Cares.
It’s a partnership that makes a lot of sense for us. The Perot Museum is focused on inspiring students through science and hands-on learning, while UWorld has a long history of helping students build the knowledge and confidence they need to reach their academic goals. With our shared focus on STEM and middle and high school education, we have a great opportunity to work together to support students across North Texas.
Creating Access Where It’s Needed
There’s a real need for this work in our backyard. Texas STEM jobs are growing at twice the national average, making it increasingly important to build a strong pipeline of students interested and prepared for STEM careers. At the same time, in Dallas Independent School District, 86% of students qualify as economically disadvantaged, highlighting the importance of expanding access to educational resources and enrichment opportunities.
That’s where programs like the Perot Museum’s ConnecTEEN make an impact.
ConnecTEEN, which is presented by Lockheed Martin and supported by UWorld, gives high school students opportunities to explore STEM, build skills, and connect with professionals. And students are clearly interested: In 2025, the program grew from four planned cohorts to seven and served 160 teens from across DFW, with 25% coming from Dallas ISD. More than 350 students applied in just two weeks, and participants took part in more than 70 workshops.
Supporting What Comes Next
The Perot Museum is now looking to build on that momentum, including through a new ConnecTEEN Education Track for 30 high school students. Participants will help support Discovery Camps while getting a behind-the-scenes look at careers in curriculum design, museum education, program development, and community engagement.
We’re excited to be part of that growth. Our UWorld Cares partnership includes funding for the program, UWorld volunteers, and product scholarships for UWorld’s full College Prep product suite. It’s a combination that allows us to support students with experiences, people, and educational resources.
Bringing UWorld to ConnecTEEN
In July, some of UWorld’s top STEM professionals got to experience the program firsthand when we spent time with some of DFW’s highest-achieving high school students.
And, naturally, we brought some questions with us.
We kicked things off with a MythBusters-style “Facts or Fiction” game about the SAT®, ACT®, and AP® exams. Students tackled common college-prep misconceptions, from test-optional admissions to differences in access to test prep and advanced coursework. Then we put their academic skills to the test with a UWorld question challenge.
It was a fun way to share what we know while getting to meet an impressive group of students who are already thinking seriously about their futures.
That’s what we love about this partnership. The Perot Museum creates opportunities for students to explore what’s possible, and UWorld helps give them the tools and resources to pursue them. As ConnecTEEN continues to grow, we’re proud to help more North Texas students build skills, explore new paths, and take the next step toward their goals.
