At UWorld, nothing is more important than the health and well-being of our customers, employees, and the communities we serve. As a company founded by a physician and proud to have many practicing employee clinicians, we empathize with the hardships experienced during these uncertain times.
As the world battles the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), we want to let you know how we are helping our various stakeholders cope with and adapt to the changing circumstances. As we face this unprecedented crisis together, we are committed to helping those we serve throughout its duration.
Supporting Customers
Extending Subscriptions: We have extended access for free to all our QBanks to ensure that every active UWorld customer has a subscription valid through at least June 30, 2020. Learn more.
Digital Platforms: We are working continuously to ensure customers have access to their accounts and can continue preparing for exams without interruption. This support applies to all of our QBanks and mobile applications.
Distance Learning: We are providing educators with resources to help them and their students adapt to online learning and we are actively enhancing our learning platforms to ensure that they are optimized for full-time distance learning.
Supporting Employees
Medical Staff Support: Many of our UWorld employees are physicians, nurses, and PAs that are at the front lines of the fight against the COVID-19 outbreak, including serving as part of dedicated response teams across the country. They are healthcare heroes and we are incredibly proud to have them as members of the UWorld family. We are paying their full UWorld wages and giving them the flexibility to take time off as needed to help get the outbreak under control. We are grateful for their efforts and will continue to support them however we can.
Remote Work: Since Friday, March 13, all UWorld employees have been mandated to work from home until further notice to participate in social distancing, curbing the spread of the disease, and supporting those on the front lines of COVID-19 treatment. This policy is in alignment with state, federal, and CDC guidelines.
Supporting Community
Community Relief Efforts: We are honored to be a part of a global education family and are looking into ways of providing impactful support to affected communities. As proud members of our local Dallas/Fort Worth community, we are donating to the Tarrant Area Food Bank, which serves thousands of public school students in the area who rely on their schools for daily meals. The Food Bank is now distributing about 800,000 meals per week – an increase of 35% since mid-March when the virus began spreading in the area. Our CEO, Dr. Chandra Pemassani, and our CFO, Mr. Ravi Pemassani, have personally committed a $50,000 donation to the Bank, and many of our employees have already signed up to donate a portion of their upcoming paychecks toward the relief effort.
As always, we remain available to assist you. Given the extraordinary circumstances, we are receiving an unusually high number of emails and are working to answer your questions as quickly as possible. We appreciate your patience.
We remain dedicated to fulfilling our mandate to help students and professionals achieve their dreams. Throughout the duration of this outbreak, we will use our various communications channels, including website, email, blogs, and social media, to keep our customers apprised on how we are adapting to the temporary new norm and any additional plans to support you. In the meantime, please visit our support page for answers to commonly asked questions or to contact us.
We wish you, your colleagues, your families, and loved ones, safety, security, and good health in the months ahead.
